Gudi Padwa 2022: India will soon be covered in festive mode, once again! While many of us will be celebrating Chaitra Navaratri, Ramadan and Baishaki in the coming days, the western region of Maharashtra and Konkan will welcome a brand new year. The Gudi Padwa festival marks the start of the new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus and will be celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout Maharashtra and adjoining regions. The festival essentially marks the first day of the New Year according to the lunisolar calendar. On Gudi Padwa day, people get up early and place Gudi flags and decorative designs on their doorsteps and perform pujas.
